No Plan

The no plan is essentially a free plan. It gives you access to live video streaming, two-way audio, and motion notifications.

Arlo Secure Plan

The Secure plan costs $9.99/month for unlimited cameras or $2.99/month for a single camera. In addition to the no plan’s offering, Arlo Secure includes up to 2k video resolution, thirty days of video history, animated preview, interactive notifications, smoke/CO alarm detection, activity zones, Call a Friend, and priority support.

It also comes with advanced customization, which lets you customize notifications based on people, packages, vehicles, and animals. The plan is compatible with all Arlo cameras and video doorbells.

Arlo Secure Plus Plan

The Secure Plus plan includes all of the Secure plan’s features, with an additional 24/7 Emergency Response option. It also offers up to 4k video resolution, outclassing the Secure’s 2k maximum. The plan costs $14.99/month for unlimited cameras and is compatible with all Arlo cameras and video doorbells.

Continuous Video Recording (CVR)

You can upgrade your plan to include continuous video recording. It costs $9.99 for fourteen days and $19.99 for thirty days.

Trial and warranty

Arlo offers a limited equipment warranty and a 30-day trial period for new equipment.

Monitoring

Arlo’s devices fulfill different monitoring needs. For example, the Arlo Pro Wire-Free cameras are suitable for monitoring in-door medium and low traffic areas. Whereas the Arlo Go cameras, which leverage mobile network connectivity instead of Wi-Fi connectivity, can be used in Wi-Fi and electricity-absent regions.

Alerts

Arlo’s free/no plan sends motion notifications. The Secure and Secure Plus plans send interactive notifications and distinguish between humans, packages, pets, and vehicles.

Home Automation

Arlo doesn’t have its own platform for home automation, but the brand’s wireless cameras pair with your existing smart home system. The cameras can pair via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or both.

With Google Home or Alexa voice assistant integrations, you can tap into Arlo camera feeds via voice commands. You can purchase Arlo’s SmartHub base station to achieve a more advanced home automation experience; the device streamlines recording and processing into singular footage, providing you with a more unified view.

Installing Arlo devices is easy, thanks to the Arlo application. The app includes step-by-step walkthroughs to guide you through the installation process of each device. Its QR scanning feature detects your device and you can name each product. Arlo’s app also lets you check the signal strength in each area, before committing to a mounting location.

The Arlo app itself has a clean, easy-to-use interface. If you’ve subscribed to the Secure plan or above, you can customize notifications to prioritize the alerts you receive.
